On Premise Data Gateway is not available when merging Odata feeds with (Excel) files on a folder

In November 2017, we created and published a data model combining Odata feeds and excel files stored on a shared drive. The different sources are merged in the query editor.

After publishing the model, we were able to select the on premise data gateway to schedule refreshes of the model.

After the latest update of the Power BI gateway (End of January 2018) the scheduled refresh stopped working and we were not able to select the gateway anymore.

When we upload a model with all the sources but without merging them, the gateway works fine.

Anyone encountering the same issue or having any feedback?

Hi @MIS-EAU,

From your description, it seems that the OData is a online data source and Excel is on-premise data source, right?

Currently, on-premise data gateway is not available for dataset that connect to online and on-prem sources that have Merge/Append feature. But PG team is working for this feature. See: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/13405644-combine-enterprise-gatew...}

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft,

The OData is indeed an online source and the Excel file is On-Premise.

The post you are referring to dates back to 2016 but we only encountered the issue at the end of January. Between November and January, the merge/append of both sources worked fine. Is the failure due to a recent update of the gateway?

Can you give me an estimation on when the bug will fixed?

Thanks.

Hi @odraode,

We raised a support ticket at Microsoft and they told us it was a bug in the on-premise gateway. If you install the latest version, the issue is solved.
