Missing Links to Reports Containing Power BI Service Live Connection

I'm using the new Preview Feature "Power Bi Service Live Connections" where I'm linking multiple reports to the same Dataset.

Multiple dashboards are created based on these reports and are shared within the organziation.

The issue is that visuals within these dashboards are not being linked with the reports and an error is being shown in the dashboard stating the reports do no longer exist.

The problem is not common on all platforms, things are working smoothly on the web but are not working on iOS app(iphones and ipads) and it is only facing the shared users within the organization. Clicking on the "Go to Report" link within the visuals sometimes disappear and other times are not responsive.

Owner of the report can still access the reports from the dashboard using iOS apps.

Reports that are not using the new Preview Feature are working perfectly.

Please advise.

Hi @razar,

According to your description, you get data from the dataset use Power BI service data source in desktop and create a report, publish the report to the same workspace that contains the dataset being used. Then you pin visuals from that report to a new dashboard, share that dashboard with a user who is not a member of this workspace, right?

1. Does this shared user can click the dashboard tile go to the report in browser?
2. Does the member of this workspace contains the dataset being used can click the dashboard tile go to the report in iOS mobile app?

hi @v-qiuyu-msft

Thank you for your reply.

The descrption you provided is accurate, below is the answers to your questions:

1- Yes (browers on Windows and Mobiles are working)

2- Yes (currently 1 member is in the workspace)

It is worth to mention that the "go to report" tab sometimes disappear in the iOS app for the shared user. However, even when it appears, it is still not functional.

Please note also that the shared user is able to use the Q&A from within the iOS app and has access to the data in the dataset.

Hi @razar,

The same issue reported before: CRI 36903832.

"This is happening because for shared dashboard the live connected report's packages and report objects are not added in the response of GetAppMetadata SP. There is no work around for this. a bug (Defect 10083911) is created to track this and we are already working on a fix. The fix is expected to be deployed to PROD as part of 5.4 train (end of May)."

hi @v-qiuyu-msft

I reveiwed the issue reported in CRI 36903832 and suggestions that took place.

Please note that we are still facing the same problem despite updating PowerBI Desktop and iOS app.

While using the web browser, links from dashboard to reports are not stable where errors appear from time to time, however these errors disappear after refreshing tiles

. Where as for iOS, we couldn't find any work around, we still not able to open any report from dashboard tiles and thus the user has no access to the report as he doesn't belong to the same workspace.
