Line chart data labels are shown incorrectly

Hi

I have 2 measures shown on a line chart but the data labels from one measure are sometimes shown as a data label from the other measure and vice versa. See this image for an example. Sometimes it helps if I make the graph larger but on some graphs even making it very large doesn't help + I just don't have the space on a dashboard to make it bigger. Could this please be fixed?

Hi @Spetter,

The issue has been reported internally one year ago: CRI 44460398. And it's by design. You can see reply vy v-haibl-msft here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Datalabels-Line-chart/m-p/229027#M102141

I will sent a email to consult if there is any update of this issue.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft

Thank you for researching this. We can switch to column charts but from design perspective it is not our preference as line charts are suited better to display numbers over a time period. In the line charts labels can be too confusing because if you are not paying attention, then the wrong number is used during a discussion.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft

Could this be considered as a bug?

We also see this behaviour in other charts like the chart below.

In Excel there is an option to show data labels above or below the line that can be configured for each measure in a chart seperately. I think this option could fix this in most scenario's. What do you think?
