 Re-produce step:

1. Create a Excel file

2. Create a Data model in the Excel.

3. Import the Excel file to Power BI Desktop

4. Create a visual

I want to convert my report from Excel file to Power BI Desktop.

@yoshihirok

I've already reported it internally to Power BI Team: CRI 33923598
I'll post here once I get any update about it.

You can save the PBIX file and reopen it to workaround this issue.

Hi Yoshihirok,

I got the exact same thing today.. and I still don't know why it happends. Hope that there will be a answer from Microsoft. I used the following workaround: Just delete one of the relationships between tables (in Power BI desktop) that you've made in your Excel file. Create this relationship again (in Power BI Desktop).

After making the new (but same) relation you should be able to move and resize your visuals.

Got a feeling that the full Excel datamodel freezes Power BI Desktop, for what ever reason...

Hope it helps.

Kind Regards,

Hi @rrosendahl thank you to the workaround of deleting-recreate relationship.

The workaround of save-reopen pbix file does work well.

I can continue my work after import from Excel.

now, I'm contiuning updating this issue from microsoft.

Glad I found this, as I just posted something very similar.  I dont have an relationships setup in my model, but I will attempt to save and reopen the file.    I am not able to resize the visual either.

Hi, @dj_storm, thank you for your reply.

"I am not able to resize the visual either" seems to need another workaround for this issue.

I'm waiting for update from Microsoft.
