Failure of Power BI in Sharepoint lists

I am facing an issue consistently using Power BI when I migrated my sharepoint lists from 2010 to 2013, I am always facing up with the "SharePoint: Request failed: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. (An error occurred while processing this request)" error whenever I try to import my list.

 NOTE : Sharepoint On Premise

It works for a certain port but doesn't work for another port.

I have tried extracting the same list from Tableau as well and other reporting tools as well. It works completely fine with them.

Power BI has always worked for me but this is the first time I am facing this issue. If it didn't work out, I will have to switch to different tools in future because main data source that I use is sharepoint lists.

Please Look into this and help me get out of it.

Hi @dvnshshrma,

In Power BI desktop, use SharePoint List data source, type the root site URL of SharePoint, please specify the port number in the URL to see if you can get data. For example, http://sp13:80/sites/test1

By the way, please run the latest desktop version.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft,

I already did the things that you suggested but it still throws internal server error (500).

It worked on other port number but when I select the root directory from the default port where

the data is present that I need. It shows this.

For example,

when I put http://example:2222/ --> where the dummy data is present (It loads)

when I put http://example/  --> The data that I need, it throws error

Don't suggest moving the data to the other port because that's not upto me.

Please Help!

Regards,

Devansh Sharma
