Bug with Filtering and Sorting in Data View

Using the latest version of Power BI Desktop (Version: 2.59.5135.421 64-bit June, 2018), I noticed that Filtering and Sorting in Data View can produce incorrect results.

As an example, I imported from a database and added a couple calculated columns using RANKX. After filtering for a certain value, I noticed that sorting by different columns did not sort the entire dataset. Or in other words, the values in each row were not aligned correctly; the sorting only applied to certain columns.

I wouldn't think this would be the intended behavior as this can make data model validation and testing very difficult.

Appreciate your help with this.

Thank you

@Anonymous,

Could you please share a small dataset so that we can test? Also we want to know which columns you use to sort and what is your expected result.

Regards,
Lydia

Hi Lydia,

I'll try to reproduce the issue with a sample dataset as the issue occurred with company data.

Thanks

Robert
