Salesforce Objects - New Fields

Our company recently had a Salesforce redesign and managed to lessen the number of fields on the Accounts objects. How do I display the new (and lesser) fields in Power BI if I load the entire Account object? I tried doing it and it still shows the old fields.

Thank you in advance!

Hi

You can use a a couple of options:

1) in Power BI go to Options\"Clear cache" and click the "Refresh Preview" button in Query Editor of Power BI. Select an early step, if you have a trasnformation like "Remove other columns" you have double click in the step and check the new fields to be included.

2) With your Excel spreadsheet connected to Salesforce, if you can see the new fields in the preview table, you can copy the M code from you Excel Advanced editor to  the Advanced editor in Power BI

Hi Lydia,

Thanks for the help. I did, but it still shows the old fields.

@emmanmapada,

Are you able to view the new field when you connect to salesforce from other applications such as Excel? What is the type of this field?

Regards,
Lydia

@v-yuezhe-msft Yes. I am able to view the fields when I export to Excel. The field types are a combination of drop-down and free text fields.

@emmanmapada,

What is the specific option in Excel do you use? If you use Power Query option, could you please post the code in Advanced Editor of Power Query? And also please post the code in Advanced Editor of existing query in Power BI Desktop. Do mask sensitive data before uploading codes.

Lydia

@v-yuezhe-msft Hello. It's only one image. Left is Salesforce, beside it is Power BI.

@emmanmapada

Could you please post the code in Advanced Editor of Power Query?

Lydia
