Return raw data from Mixpanel to PowerBI

Hi all,

I'm new to PowerBI, loving it so far. I connected Mixpanel with PowerBI and tried to export data from Mixpanel to PowerBI. However, the Invoked Function I got from the query against Mixpanel Segmentation did not return the count for event properties although I have keyed in the event property under Segment On. It only returned the date and the count for that date.

I emailed Mixpanel Team and they said "to return the raw event data, including individual events and their properties, you'd need to query against data.mixpanel.com/export using the syntax shown in the article at this link", which means the URI should be data.mixpanel.com instead of mixpanel.com.

Is there any way to fix this? Would really appreciate your help. TIA 🙂

@duongnguyen,

Could you please use the Web connector in Power BI Desktop, enter the following example URL mentioned in this article and check if it renturns raw event data?

https://data.mixpanel.com/api/2.0/export/?from_date=2012-02-14&to_date=2012-02-14&where=properties%5...

Hi Lydia,

Thanks for your help. I have tried multiple times. I tried today again and got 404 error.404 error.png

My URL is https://data.mixpanel.com/api/2.0/segmentation/?event=Create%20Page&from_date=2017-08-26&to_...

Do you know any potential reason why this occurred?

Thanks!

Duong.

@duongnguyen,

Do you get results when you directly enter the above URL in Browser? Please follow the instructions in the similar blog below to use M code to retrieve data from your data source. You would need to pass API key and API secret  in the M code.
