Replacing a SSAS connector with a Gateway

Whenever I get data from my Azure MV with SSAS on it from PowerBI, I see this message:

"Support for SQL Server Analysis Services Connector ends after March 31, and databases connected using this method will no longer appear in this list. Please upgrade to Power BI Gateway – Enterprise soon; only databases connected using the Power BI Gateway - Enterprise will appear in this list."

So I bite the bullet, and install the Personal Gateway on my server.

It doesn't install and can't be uninstalled, so I read the articles and it says to remove the analysis services connector.

So, I uninstall the analysis services connector and by having to use CCleaner I am finally able to uninstall the partial installation of the Personal Gateway, then reinstall it completely.

But my Power BI installation doesn't recognize that I have uninstalled the analysis services connector and installed the personally gateway. Whenever I go to get data, it still assume I have the analysis services gateway but doesn't find the connector and can't get any data.

Maybe I should install the enterprise gateway?

So I read the instructions for this and it says don't remove the analysis services connector.

Before I reinstall the analysis services connector and install the enterprise gateway, which gateway should I be using, should I re-install the analysis services connector or not, and how to I get Power BI to recognize the new configuration to get data from?

I have an Azure VM with Windows Server 2012 installed and SQL Server 2016 w/ SSAS.

I have a Power BI Pro account with two users.

I want to access Analysis Services Tabular and SQL Server Data.
