In Power BI Desktop I am able to successfully connect to an Azure Data Lake Store and create a DataSet and Report. Once I publish the PBIX file to the Power BI Service, I want to schedule a periodic refresh of the data. When attempting to schedule the refresh, I am asked to reenter the credentials to connect to the Azure Data Lake Store.
When I do, I always get the following error. I have double (and triple) checked the credentials, and the same credentials work within Power BI Desktop. Is it possible to do a scheduled refresh of a DataSet within the Power BI Service if the data source is Azure Data Lake Store?

Did this issue resolve as i am also getting exactly same issue as its cross tenant access
@siveyjos,
Are you able to refresh the data in Power BI Desktop? Do you use same account to sign in Azure and Power BI Service?
Regards,
Lydia
Can you please share if there is a solution to this problem?
Should we use API call to resolve this ?
Hi Lydia,
Yes, we are able to refresh the data in Power BI Desktop. We are using the same credentials in the Power BI service.
Josh
I second that! cause I have the exact same problem with refreshing the data from an Azure DataLake through the Power BI web portal, even though it is working fine through Power BI desktop (using the same account)
The credentials provided for the DataLake source are invalid.

This guy seems to have found the reason of the problem -> connecting-power-bi-to-azure-data-lake-store-across-tenants
Basically, it seems that we cannot currently authenticate against an Azure Data Lake Store from PowerBI.com across tenants.
So as far as I understand, maybe associating the office 365 tenant to the azure subscription of the data lake we are trying to connect may solve the problem (steps to follow here). Note that it will clear your azure active directory.
But this is not intuitive at all if it does work.
Please can someone from the PowerBi or Microsoft team explain what's happening here ?
PS: note that the same guy opened a petition to have Microsoft lift this restriction, please add your vote if you want to get things changed -> https://office365.uservoice.com/forums/264636-general/suggestions/17841250-allow-powerbi-com-to-conn...
We are also having the same issue.
Is there a plan to resolve?
