Is 2016 SSRS required for Desktop BI

It may be a silly question but I couldn't find the answer around. I downloaded Power BI Desktop and I try to connect to my 2014 Resporting Services and it's returning "This URL is not valid Report Server address" which it's because it's a working reporting server.

Is SQL 2016 required for Power BI desktop?

You need to install the Technical Preview version. Please refer to this document.
