Google Analytics Expression Error on PBI Desktop

Hello,

I am trying to integrate with Google Analytics to review data related to my website traffic. When I walk through the connection process in Power BI Desktop, I run into the follow error (Expression.Error: Google Analytics requires that at least one measure be specified) when trying to connect data such as Geolocation fields and User fields. I have noticed the fields that work have a symbol of a bar chart and the ones triggering the error have a different icon that appears to be a line graph?

How can I connect to these fields? Currently, the PBI online wizard doesnt connect to the geo fields I'm looking to collect, but the desktop integration also limits the fields i can pull making both obsolete. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi @onsitetech,

If I only click Dimensions(line graph icon) under User or Geo Network  without combining metrics(bar chart icon), I can reproduce your error.

Based on this article which lists Dimensions & Metrics Explorer in Reporting API V4, only certain dimensions and metrics can be used together to create valid combinations. In your scenario, please click Dimensions and metrics to import data from Google Analytics to Power BI Desktop. This way, you are able to exclude the above error and successfully load data. There is an example for your reference.
