Error on Installing On Premises Gateway

Any thoughts on how to proceed? I've installed the gateway previously on this machine. I've since uninstalled it and am now trying to reinstall, but am unable to. The installer doesn't even start or show an error message. Below are from the event viewer.

Thanks for the link! Putting the direct answer here since I thought it was hard to notice on the page.

"We are experiencing a temporary issue where users attempting to install the Data Gateway may experience issues during the installation of the product. As a workaround, you can manually install each gateway. For On-premises data gateway, go to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=820931. I am getting the same error. I had the data gateway installed on my machine and uninstalled it as it was older version. After uninstallation, I  am trying to re-install from Power BI Service, I am getting the same error in eventvwr. I am using Windows 7 SP1 64 bit. I am not sure, if it is the issue with Windows version or something else.

This seems to be the same issue as was reported here

Anyone succeeded yesterday or today? I have tried to install it on several machines without succes. Same message.

There is an awareness message on the support site; they give a workaround. Have a look at

Temporary solution installs the gateway, but during the registration I am getting below error

Error generating an asymmetric key.
The communication object, System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel, cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state.

Is the issue fixed, as in the support they have removed the ETA and related post. I have uninstalled the temporary workaround and downloaded it from Power BI Service. I am  still facing same issue. Please advise.
