Change a corrupted Excel file (Power Pivot) One note for existing dashboards and reports

Hi!,

I have a Excel file with a Power Pivot model shared throw One Drive Business and linked to many dashboards and reports.

The file was corrupted and not allow me to modify.

A long time ago we had some issues changing (replacing) existing Excel files connected to Dashboard. At the end we had to recreate all the dashboards again.

My question is about, can I restore from History to a previous version from the One Drive page and Not have to recreate again all the dashboards? Is there a way to not lost the connection to the Excel file if I replace with another file?

Regards,

Hi @cristiansaavedr,

Based on my test, if we didn't delete the corrupt file on OneDrive, then create a new file by Excel app with the same file name as corrupt file in OneDrive. Then upload the new file to OneDrive, it prompts to Replace the corrupt file. The connection between Power BI service and OneDrive will not lose.

In your scenario, please don't delete file then upload file, just Replace it with same file name.

Best Regards,
