PowerBI Embedded Refresh Limitations

Hi,

I couldn't seem to find other information on this.

I note the API allows up to 8 refreshes per day or 48 per day if on Premium, but it does not mention PowerBI Embedded (App owns data). By purchasing a PowerBI Embedded capacity sku is that considered 'Premium' and allows 48 refreshes per day?

We are using this for external customers viewing our reports hence app owns data model.

Thanks

Hi @timwilson,

If the dataset is not in a workspace assigned to Premium capacity, then you will be limited to eight refreshes per day. Datasets in workspaces assigned to Premium will support up to 48 refreshes a day.

So what type is your sku(A1, EM1, or P1)? Are you able to assign Premium capacity to the workspace?

As a visual hint, you will see a diamond icon next to workspaces that are in a Premium capacity.

Hello, I have this same exact question, and the answer from @v-ljerr-msft is still ambiguous to me.

I haven't procured any A1, EM1 or P1 nodes yet, so I cannot test it out to see whether workspaces in A1- or EM1-type capacities show the "diamond" icon.

Does the answer above imply that that A1- and EM1-type nodes are "Premium capacity," or are not "Premium capacity?"

I would like to know, for both A1 and EM1 nodes: are dataset refreshes limited to 8 refreshes per day?

Thanks!

I finally just got an A1 node in Azure, and moved a workspace into that Embedded Capacity, and tested it myself.

They act like "Premium Capacity." Workspaces on the A1 node do show the "diamond" icon. And, I could schedule 48 refreshes per day.
