Change the AD user in Power BI Embedded

We are an ISV working on embedding Power BI in our web application.

We had successfully deployed an embedded report within the web application in test. The Power BI authentication in the report in the test environment was originally using an analyst credentials in the web config file to authenticate the application to Power BI, but now we need to change it from the analyst credentials to a different AD user created specifically for this application.

The new AD user is created, has a Power BI Pro license, and was given admin rights on the Workspace on powerbi.com

We updated the credentials on the web config to the new AD user credentials. However we are now not able to view the report on the web application.

When we switch back the credentials to the analyst credentials it works as expected.

Is there a step we are missing to get the new AD User credientials to authenticate the embedded report?

What error have you got when saying "not able to view the report"? Ensure two things.

  1. The new AD credential has access to the workspace of the embedded reports/dashboards.
  2. The registered AAD permission has grant to the new credential. See how
