"Direct Query: Enabled (click to change)" option is missing

Why do some pbix files have a option down by the system tray, "Direct Query: Enabled (click to change)", and other PBIX files are missing that option?

Hi @mbhunt,

Currently we can only change mode from Direct Query to Import, and Import Model cannot be converted back to DirectQuery.

So the "Direct Query: Enabled (click to change)" option will be available only when the data source is connected with Direct Query mode. And you won't see it, if the data source is already connected with Import mode.Smiley Happy
