power bi "Index Match" between two different sources

Hello everybody,

I have one source file with zip codes mainly from germany that I would like to assign to the respective country. In order to do so, I found out a csv file with all the zip codes from germany and corresponding city, lat, long, etc. 

What I would like to do is a kind of index match between the two table. Unfortunately I couldn't establish a relationship since there are some zip codes that don't belong to Germany. Therefore the two tables don't speak between each others and it's hard to find a proper function in the query editor.

Any ideas?

Hi AS,

@Greg_Deckler is right. You still can establish a relationship. If you only want to match the codes, there is a function you can try without a relationship. It would be something like this:

CodesInGermany =
LOOKUPVALUE ( Germany[CodeGermany], Germany[CodeGermany], 'All'[AllCode] )

CodesInAll =
LOOKUPVALUE ( 'All'[AllCode], 'All'[AllCode], 'Germany'[CodeGermany] )

Can you post some sample data and example of what you are trying to do that you cannot do?

Just because there are unmatched values in a relationship shouldn't prevent you from creating a relationship.
