Hi, I want to use map as slicer also.. In current scenario we let's say we have data country wise and i want to display top 10 printers.
When I click on let's say France, the chart of top 10 printers is displaying status of overall top 10 printers in US rather than top 10 printers in France. Using slicer is solving the issue, as when selection is France, its displaying top 10 printer in france. Instead of slicer i want to use map. please guide how to do that?
Create or Use a table that contains all of your country/region information that you are interested in. This table will need a column which you will place "1" into each row. This table needs to be linked to your tables that you want to filter.
Next create a "Filled Map" visual, placing the Locations into "Location" and the field containing 1 into "Color Saturation". Lastly in the Format visual section of the Visualsations pane, look for the section "Data Colours". Set the maximum to 1 and the colour you want to display.
Now you will have a filled map of coloured areas you can click on to filter from.
