HI, I would like to know if there is some way to sort a visual dashboard by month when having months from different years, in order from latest to newest.
Thank you!
Hi @Anonymous,
Do you have a Date type column or Text column?
For Date format, when you add date column to a chart visual, please set the X-axis type to categorical. Then, you can directly choose the "Sort by date" option via clicking the three dots on top right.
For Text format, you may need to add a numerical field for sorting. Please refer to below links:

How do I sort by month number instead of alphabetically by month name in Power BI
Best regards,
Yuliana Gu
Hi Yuliana,
Thanks for your answer.
I tried with your method but i here my issue:
I am sorting wether for months, but even when I do a Categorical type I do not see the months for its chronological order counting the different years but if all was within the same year although there are months from 2017 and 2018.
May you know how to fix that?
Again, really appreciate your help.
