Sum/Average?

Why does PBI not allow users to use the SUM and AVERAGE functions with measures? I feel like no matter if I create a measure or column, I should be able to do things like:

SUM(Any measure/column I want)

AVERAGE(Any measure/column I want)

This setback is getting in the way of a lot of things I'm trying to figure out...

To aggreagte a MEASURE we typically use an X iterator

i.e. this pattern

Sum of a MEASURE =
SUMX ( ALLSELECTED ( TableName[ColumnName] ), [Measure] )

Average-of-a-measure
