Schema Change - how to best to handle in PBI?

I am currently connecting to a SQL database to support my dashboards.

When there is a column added, the additive data flows right into PBI is available - and works great.  However, (and obviously), when a developer changes a name of a column, or removes a column, the dashboards "break".

When this occurs, what is the best way in Power BI to resolve the changes without rebuilding the dashboard.  A brief narrative that explains where to make the change in PBI, and how, would be greatly appreciated.

Please give an example of:

1.  Column Name Change

2.  Column Removed

Thank you!

Hi @irnm8dn,

When a developer changes a name of a column, or removes a column, you'll need to firstly rename the corresponding names or remove the column name within Advanced Editor in Query Editor.

And then rename the names or remove the column name in your related DAX formulas(measures and calculate columns). Smiley Happy
