Hi everybody!
Let's see if you can help me
I have a data model that gets information from a folder. That folder has lots of different and big files in it (at least 20 or so). The thing is, i only want to refresh one of them (the one referring to the current month, highlighted):
Is there a way to do that?
Thanks in advance!
Hi @Anonymous,
>>The thing is, i only want to refresh one of them (the one referring to the current month, highlighted):
Current, power bi not suppot this.
In my opinion, I'd like to suggest you create a reference query and navigate it to the specified file, then disable refresh of original query. After these steps, you can refresh the specify file.

Dear Xiaoxin Sheng / @v-shex-msft,
I have the same questions as @Anonymous, would be great if you could show us / me a step by step on how to implement the solution you suggested.
Eagerly awaiting your response!
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Stefan
Hi Xiaoxin! Thanks for the reply.
I do not know how to create a reference query, nor disabling refresh. BTW, I only use Power BI Desktop. Can you show me any image or step by step? That would be really handy.
Thanks again
Santt
Hi @Anonymous,
Sorry for slow response, below are operation steps and screenshots:
1. Right click on the query which you want to reference.
2. Choose the "Reference" option to create a new reference query.
3. Navigate to the referenced query and choose the file which you want to keep.
4. Uncheck the "include the report refresh" option of original query.
Regards,
Xiaoxin Sheng
Hi @v-shex-msft, thanks again for your response
I followed the steps, but i cannot navigate through the referenced query; if you see the applied steps, it only shows the final outcome of the original query instead of the files i want to evaluate:
Sorry if my english is not really sharp
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
Hi @Anonymous,
I think the original query has been navigated to specify file, right? The reference feature only invoke the query result(if you modify the original query, the referenced query will follow the change), you can't find the detail steps at the referenced query.
Regards.
