Powewr BI Desktop AzureConsumptionInsights Access to Resource is forbidden

Already connected to Azure Consumption Insights and can see data including financials va Power BI Service.

 

When trying to connect with Power BI Desktop, the schema shows then an error message is displayed PBDConsumptionError.PNG

Using API key value in Account key, still getting access to resource is forbidden.

 

Any ideas?

Hi Vicky,

 

Tried steps 1 to 3 before posting the issue.

 

Tried via Excel and captured the issue.

 

ForcePoint (Our on-premises Firewall solution) was blocking https://consumption.azure.com

 

This has now been fixed and can use the data source as defined in the article.

 

Any questions just ask.

From your description, it seems that the issue is solved now and you can get data from Azure Consumption Insights in Power BI desktop fine, right?

Hi @JohnAtAggreko,

 

1. Please go to Data source Settings, find it the data source exist in the current file or global, if it does, please clear it's permission by click "Clear Permissions".

2. Please follow this article to get data in Power BI desktop from Azure Consumption Insights. Verify the access key you provided is valid, you find it from Azure EnterPrise portal like below:

3. Please try to update the Power BI desktop to the latest version. 

 

4. If issue persists, please enable desktop trace log, repeat the steps to reproduce the issue and share the trace log files with us.
