Hi,
I am after some assistence.
Is it possible to configure Power Bi Desktop not to choose a random port when launching, but to choose a static known port everytime? or is there a particular range it may use?
We are running Power BI desktop on a Windows 10 machine which we secure using Domain IP sec policies. When I launch Power Bi, IPSec blocks the port to the local host (127.0.0.1) and we get the error Unable to Start Power BI Desktop, we weren't able to connect to the model. Now if I relax the IP sec policy it launches OK. We have had a similar issues with other applications and the fix is just to allow that port number in IP Sec rule and all is ok. The problem with Power Bi is that it chooses a random port number everytime it launches so we don't know which one to allow thorough our IP Sec policies.
Thanks
Paul
I didn't find such a configuration. You may create a support ticket.
Thank you for replying. I tried opening a support ticket, but it's telling me i'm not a pro user. I imagine others must have ran in to this problem if they are using IP security rules on thier clients.
