Need help in dax formula

Hi guys, i'm new in DAX formula need help in one formula creation.

want to calculate sum(Retail Volume Category) of Brand , but want to ignore duplicate entries which are coming due to Sub Brand column , ideally in 2016 there are 12 orginial entries each for month but due to Sub brand column they are coming twice hence sum should be for unique values, any help would be appriciated.

Hi there, what I would suggest doing instead of trying to find a DAX formula is to rather change the way your data is modeled, which will then mean that you can get the DAX formula that you require.

In order to do that I would have another table which would have your Sub Brands, and instead of the data going down in rows, it would go across in columns.

So it would be Brand = "Baileys" Sub Brand 1 = "Baileys Minis", Sub Brand 2 = "Baileys Original" etc.

And then join the two tables on the Brand. In doing so this will mean your data is accurate as well as the best data modeling also.
