Multiple Interactions Not Working Between Charts

When clicking on a chart that filter two other charts then clicking on a second chart that filters the third the first filtered is removed.

Example:

Chart A: Sales by Year (Displays 3 Years)

Chart B: Sales by Product (Displays totals by Product initally all 3 years)

Chart C: Sales by Sales Rep (Displays totals by Sales initally all 3 years)

Chart A fitlers both Chart B and C

Chart B fitlers only C

Chart C has no filters

Click on a Year from Chart A:  Both Chart B and C are now filtered to only display a single year

Click on Chart B for a specific Product:  Chart B reverts back to all 3 years and Chart A is no longer clicked.

Expected Result:

Chart C should be filtered by both Chart A and B and display only Sales by Rep for the selected year and product.

In your example, since Chart B filters only C, after you click on Chart B for a specific product, Chart A will be no longer clicked. But Chart C should be still filtered. Please refer to the following video.

I think a better solution is to make Chart B filter A and C instead of only C. Please refer to following video.

You are seeing correct results only due to the way your data is setup.  If Sales Rep M1, sold products in other years other than 2015 or A1 was sold by another rep your results would not be as you expected.  Add to your dataset the following:

Year, Product, Rep, Sales

2016, A1, M1, 5
2015, A1, M2, 10

@rayishome

I see… There is a feature request for this function here. Please vote on it.

You can now use a slicer to filter the year as a alternative.

Best Regards,

Herbert
