Multiple Data sources for SSAS

Someone asked this question a year ago, but basically my quesiton is: is it possible to "connect live" to multiple sql server analysis services?

Eno1978, who answered this question year ago, said: "connecting via "Connect Live" - this disables any option to connect to other data because SSAS is the only source that you can use that connection type." I was wondering if this is the case.

If it's still not possible to have multiple live connections, would any of y'all have any 'smart' workarounds? Would using Power BI Online change anything? Could I somehow use scripts? Just throwing out random thoughts out at this point...

Basically, I have 3 cubes each on a different server, and I need to be able to mix and match their data together - also it'd be an ongoing process and I'd be continually fed new data for a dashboard I'm envisioning. I'd love to be able to do all this on Power BI.

Thank you!!! 🙂

you have to use schedule in powerbi service to refresh your import data set, I think the maximum limit is 8 time a day.

With SSAS , you cannot connect to multiple data souces even they are SSAS, only way is to use import and write MDX query, it will work.

Thanks,

Parv

My eventual goal is to have a live dashboard. If I have to import my data, how could this dashboard be constantly updating? Would you have any 'smart" workarounds? Thank you.
