Issue: Access to Excel file in sharepoint without permission

Hello Everybody,

I connected power BI to an excel file that is saved in sharepoint. This Excel file is saved in a private group in sharepoint. Which means only few people have access to this file. However, I can access it from power BI without being logged in, by using the link of that group. Is that supposed to happen?

I guess you have data source credentials saved in your computer. Please go to data source settings of Power BI Desktop to clear the permissions and have a try again. Please refer to my recorded video below.
