The Total data could be generated by using a separate label, but it would be nice if the visual itself could do this.

Could you please share us sample data?
If you have Name and Qty columns in your table, just create a pie chart in Power BI Desktop as shown in the following screenshot. Drag Qty column toValues section, drag Other column to Tooltips section.
Then add a textbox as shown in the following screenshot.
