Display a link to a source-file

I have a pbix-file which gets some data from an excel-file on our sharepoint-system.

I have in this pbix-file a page where i give some explanation about the target of this pbix-file and how to interprete results ...

I would like to display a link to the source-file so that an owner (which has really access the excel-file already) can jump from my published version of the pbix-file to the source-file and do some adjustments.

Second question: the published version is already refreshed every day. Is it possible that those owners can refresh the data by themself?

Thanks in advance for any idea's

Eddy

@eddydm

You can add a image (small icon) on the report and give hyperlink to the source file. So, the user can go to the file.

for your second question, I am not sure about it. I guess, as long as the dataset is refreshed, the user can simply refresh by using refresh option on the report.

@rocky09, thanks for your idea.

I'v solved my first problem by making a new table, with 2 field: subject and http-link.

I defined the http-link as a web-link

Then I used a table-visual and showed the subject and the web-url-icon.

So I can go to the source-file.

I'm afraid that the refresh by the user has only impact when the dataset is refreshed. I don't know how we can obtain a refresh of the dataset by some users.

I can't do an scheduled refresh of the dataset every 5 minutes, because the refresh itselfs takes too long!!!

Thanks for the response!
