Conditional formatting based on the output of another column

hi,

does anyone know if it is possible to make a conditional format based on the output a different column??

Example

column 1= Actual rev. , column 2= Budget

IF the Actual rev is higher than the Budget i want to see the Column 1 as red otherwise green

For now i did not see any other option than to make a calculation of those 2 columns (Act-Budget) and if the result was -9999999 than it needed to be red otherwise green

thnx for advising!

hi Qiuyun Yu

thanks for you response on this topic, pity that PBI is not (yet) able to do a conditional formatting on other columns.... Will vote for the idea https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/16891147-dynamic-conditional-form... and hopefully it will be solved soon. In the meantime i will use the calculated column.

thnx

Hi @emveha,

By now power BI doesn't support conditional format between multiple columns. Please refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-conditional-table-formatting.

You can vote on this same idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/16891147-dynamic-conditional-form....

As a workaround, you can create a calculate column. (e.g.: column = Actual rev – Budget), then use conditional formatting in calculate column.
