Change Data Source from excel files to Power Bi Service

Hi,

I've made a report to analyse data (retrieved from SAP) in excel files.

Since I have a lot of pages and the navigation is not so easy, I've decided to have a different approach:

I connect the data to an empty report. I set the data source from the several reports I've create to the Power BI Service.

(I would appreciate any comments regarding this setup)

The problem is:

I want to modifiy an existing report with a lot of pages, disconnect it from the Excel data source and reconnect it to Power BI service. I am not able. Can you help?

Thanks

Not sure if you'll be able to get there since you would be switching from import mode to a direct connect (live) connection to Power BI Service. If it is possible, it would be a bit hacky. Create a new PBIX that connects to the Service and save. Make a copy of your existing report. Rename the extensions of both to .zip. Then you can go in and potentially copy some files from one to the other or hand edit some of the files.

But, I think it is going to be highly problematic and probably not possible.
