Hello All,
I am newbie to powerbi.
I am trying to connect mysql servers(5 servers) which are in centos systems from my local machine i.e windows power bi desktop.
we have mysql db's in multiple systems. Here i can connect some of the mysql servers, but some of them are not.
I have followed the same scenario while connecting to every mysql server.
Server name=hostname that the mysql server is(tried fqdn,ip and ip with defalut mysql port..non of them worked)
DB name=dbname
username = root
pasword= root
While connecting to mysql server, for some systems i am getting the error as
UNABLE TO CONNECT
Details: "MySQL: Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts."
For some system i am getting the error as
UNABLE TO CONNECT
Details: "MySQL: Host 'ip' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server"
Every mysql server having the same configuration, same dbname except the server name.
But i can to some of them but not for some of them.
I tried to find out the solution for above errors, i found these links.
https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/problems-connecting.html
But i coudnt get what exactly to do.
Please suggest me.
Thanks in advance

Hi @Anonymous,
>>Details: "MySQL: Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts."
This issue seem related to server, you can try to check the settings of your database server.(e.g. mysql service is off, input an unexist database)
>>Details: "MySQL: Host 'ip' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server"
As smoupre said, it seems like to related to your computer setting, please check your settings.(e.g. port, firewall rule...)
Can you share some detail content of your issue? I test to connect mysql with server name and database mode success.

Thanks for the repley @v-shex-msft @Greg_Deckler.
I have tried by disabling firewall in my windows as well as the end user(centos 7) system. But still no luck.
Even i have tried by creating an another database, but still facing the same issue.
here i am providing the screenshot of that error.
Please suggest me how can i resolve this issue.

Hi @Anonymous,
Did you try to add the port after the servername? It may cause the issue if your database not use the default port.
In addition, you can also check the mysql service if it has been turned off.

Looks like there is some kind of firewall or connection rule that only allows certain IP addresses to connect. This could be at the OS level or perhaps the MySQL level (not a MySQL expert).
