Alerts in Power BI for the same KPI (50 users)

Hi All,

I started designing a report and found out that alerts can be creted only through the dashboard. I have 50 users I want to create seperate alerts for (based on the same KPI). Is there any way of achieving such other than creating 50 different KPIs?

Hi @Anonymous,

As there is no options to choose recipient for alert emails currently, you may need to share your dashboard which contains the KPI with the 50 users first, then let them to set alert on this KPI using their account on Power BI service in this scenario.

In addition, here is similar idea shared on Power BI Ideas. You can vote it up and add your comments there to improve Power BI on this feature.

I am sure that I read somewhere that it is possible by using Microsoft Flow to send notifications to multiple users if of course they need to be notified about the same change to the same KPI.

The users are being monitored here. there is one KPI that refers to all the monitored instances. For now I need to filter by User, create a dashboard element (separate for each user being monitored) and then set up alerts to every single one of them separately. There are other parties that would require the notifications, not users.

No, unfortunately PB does not support alerting in this form. Instead you have to create separate alerts for each category or whatever you dimensions require. In my case it is 130 alerts for one metric.

They should have create some alert feature for tables and matrix or something like that....

That feels so manual and frustrating....
