Able to use a filter to change a field used within a visual?

Hi there

I have no idea if this is possible but if it is I'll be so happy.  I have an excellent visual that shows test result data, works great.  I wanted to try and improve it by showing another field within the visual but only if it were selected.  Basically if I could check one of two options in a filter (or any thing like this but it would need to be made custom) it would use one field in the visual and if the other option were to be selected it would relace the field used and use a different one in its place.  I have two fields one shows answers overall and one shows the answers but omits certain ones, it would be useful to look at both.  Any ideas?

Stack two visuals on top of one another and use Bookmarks and the Selection pane to hide/show one or the other based upon clicking an image/button.
