Drilldown Choropleth issues

The Drilldown Choropleth is a useful Custom Visual, published by Microsoft. But after using it on a few projects I've realised it has a few issues or areas for improvement. I've reported those on it's github issues list (link below), and others have added issues they've noticed.

Are there any plans by Microsoft to continue development of this visual?

The developer of this custom visual will consider all of issues and suggestions on GitHub.

Do you mean Microsoft? Or Gramener?

Gramener developed this CV for Microsoft and currenty it supports this CV.

Is there any plans for the updated of this custom visual to be released. It is a good visual that could be great if the ideas on Git were added to it.

We hope all of ideas will be considered by developer (owner) of this custom visual.

The indication seems to be that the developer of this visual has no interest in further developing this visual. This is a real pity as mapping is something that Power BI really needs more capability in. This visual is currently the best way to deal with Chloropleth mapping which is essential but it needs more development to make it really work to a production level.

Mapbox custom visual is going to support Choropleth soon.

The Mapbox solution is not an option for us as it would involve significant fees as most of our work is in Power BI Embedded. The drill down Chicklet slicer has significant potential to work the way that we want but needs some further work.

We work with Esri and if they put more development effort into their visual has significant potential. However, at the moment it works with Australian geographies that are two years out of date, is slow and can not be used for Power BI Embedded to be able to show our Esri map layers. This could be a good solution for us but seems to get very limited development focus.

Mapping is something that we desperately need in Power BI but to date, all the potential solutions are falling short.

As of now, we would recommend to create an issue at the repo for further consideration.
